Chopard

The Sound of Eternity Experience

Year

2025
An interactive installation for Chopard that brings the L.U.C Grand Strike to life through touch, sound and cinematic motion.

Context

Luxury takes on depth through presence and personal connection. For Chopard, this meant opening up the world inside its most intricate chiming timepiece, making the craft, precision and complexity legible beyond the object itself.

Approach

The Grand Strike was translated into a responsive world of sound, image and gesture. Visitors meet the watch through its rhythm, its materiality, its acoustic character.

Impact

The Sound of Eternity Experience gives Chopard an intimate new language, a new way to bring people closer to high watchmaking. It builds understanding of the Grand Strike, deepens the world around the Maison's chiming watches, and creates direct connection with the collectors, enthusiasts and press whose attention matters most.

Field

Interaction shaped by the product

At the centre of the space sits a touch-sensitive control table, developed with Map Project Office, that opens the acoustic and mechanical world of the Grand Strike to the hand. It responds to hover, touch, swipe and gesture, each movement drawing a different reply, from clipped tones to layered compositions that unfold in real time. The vocabulary is drawn from the watch itself, its metallic particles, layered structures and components that shift with micro-movements. The composition turns with every touch.

A room composed as an instrument

The space was designed to be stepped into and stay with. Table, plinth, seating, materials and screen content were tuned to a single atmosphere. Reflective surfaces, metallic details and engraved tactile prompts carry the language of watchmaking into the room itself.

Sound at the centre

The Grand Strike is, above all, a chiming watch. Its character lives in the sound it makes. Sound was therefore treated as the heart of the encounter, the way the precision of the mechanism becomes something felt rather than seen.

A cinematic echo

Sound of Eternity is accompanied by a film, made with LeTruc and Swiss composer Jeremy Calame. FIELD led the creative direction and design, LeTruc the production, translating the world of the installation into a single cinematic expression.

Built to travel

Space, interaction, soundscape and film were designed as connected parts of a single framework. The Sound of Eternity Experience can move between future events, product launches and digital formats, meeting Chopard's audiences in new settings while keeping its character intact.
Field
The Grand Strike rewards close attention, the kind a true watch lover already brings to a piece of this calibre. The installation was built to meet it, a space where Chopard and its audience spend real time together, and where the watch is something taken part in.
